ARTP Innovation Award

The ARTP Research and Innovation Committee are pleased and indeed excited to announce the introduction of the ARTP Innovation Award. This award will be presented to the best innovative strategy that has been applied to a hospital department or service. The format of this award will be similar to the current awards that are presented to the best respiratory and sleep abstracts. We are kindly inviting hospital departments and services to submit innovation abstracts to the ARTP Annual Conference in order to raise the awareness, promote and share innovation within healthcare science.

Innovative strategies may include but are not limited to the following areas of clinical practice with the key theme of inspiring quality and productivity into healthcare science:

  • Implementation of new medical device(s) and/or technology(ies)
  • Service redevelopment to include patient pathways, increasing outpatient capacity, public patient involvement, community respiratory/sleep services, cost saving techniques.
  • Strategies/Initiatives to improve patient outcomes
  • Strategies/Initiatives to improve patient safety

Innovation abstracts should be submitted in the same way as research abstracts, however these posters will not be presented. A panel of judges will mark each innovation abstract during the conference programme and the one that receives the highest score will be presented the ARTP Innovation Award during the gala dinner and at this time the awardee will be provided with an opportunity to briefly describe their innovation.

In addition the innovation abstracts will be published in the ARTP Inspire Journal.

Submission for this award and for research abstracts will be open by the end of July and the closing date will be in October.

I do hope that you will consider submitting and sharing your innovation and look forward to seeing you all at the next ARTP Conference.

Kind Regards

Edward Parkes
Chair of ARTP Research and Innovation Committee
