Non-Invasive Ventilation

Target Audience:

  • BSc in Healthcare (Nursing, Physiotherapy, Clinical Physiology) or equivalent.
  • Experience working in respiratory medicine
  • Previous experience in NIV or Sleep Apnoea service desirable
  • Need to be part of or wanting to start an NIV service

Course Aims and Objectives:

The aim of course is to provide delegates with the underpinning knowledge, practical experience and pitfalls of running both acute and domiciliary non-invasive ventilation services.

Course Content:

  • Mechanics of Breathing and Related Physiology
  • Types of Ventilator/Modes of Ventilation
  • When to use NIV (Acute and Chronic)
  • Patient Assessment and Monitoring
  • WORKSHOP- Ventilators and Interfaces


Delegates may attend either day for £115* or the full 2 day course for £200*
