Target Audience:

This course is aimed at PTP and STP graduates, respiratory physiologists and any other healthcare professionals wishing to develop skills in conducting a research project.

Course Aims and Objectives:

This one day introduction to research course will aim to provide healthcare professionals with a fundamental level of knowledge required to perform a research project including the basics of research, ethics, auditing and statistics.

Course Content:

  • Understand the process of developing a research question and applying it within a clinical context.
  • Be able to search, review and critically appraise current research relevant to your research question.
  • Be aware of different approaches to designing a study protocol.
  • Understand the process of applying for ethical approval for your research project.
  • Be aware of different statistical approaches to data analysis.
  • Be able to present your findings in a discussion based format relating your results to previous research.
  • Understand the process of writing and presenting an abstract


The one day course starts from £150*
