20 March 2019

The CSO has announced that applications have opened for the new intake for the Clinical Entrepreneur Programme. This is an exciting opportunity for entrepreneurial healthcare scientists who are developing clinical innovations or enterprises to apply to become participants in this prestigious scheme.

The programme was initially launched in 2016 and has already recruited 360 Doctors, Dentists and Healthcare Scientists, Nurses and Midwives, Allied Health Professionals and Pharmacists from a range of diverse backgrounds. The programme is managed jointly by NHS England and Health Education England and has been developed with more than a year of intensive work with entrepreneurial clinicians, academic leaders and industry partners. Support on the programme includes mentoring, coaching, educational ‘pit-stops’, customer matching and potential entrepreneurial placements. The curriculum covers all aspects of running a small business, including attracting investors, applying for funding, and ensuring appropriate corporate governance.

Applications open on 4th March and close on 29th March. The application form can be accessed via the link to the following website during this time: https://www.england.nhs.uk/ourwork/innovation/clinical-entrepreneur/
