Paediatric Spirometry Certificate

Image for paediatric spirometry pageWho Is This Aimed At?

The ARTP/BTS Full Certificate in Paediatric Spirometry has been introduced to give
a recognised national qualification for those practitioners who regularly perform spirometry and interpret the results on paediatric patients. This is very similar to the adult based Full Certificate on spirometry but has been adapted to focus on paediatric testing. This is a Level 3 practical competence certificate.
The primary target is:
nurses (district, practice-based, respiratory nurse specialists)
physiotherapists (especially respiratory specialists)
Doctors (general practitioners)

It is no longer compulsary to attend an ARTP  accredited training day before undertaking the Full Paediatric Spirometry certificate. It is, however, still highly recommended.

The current accredited ARTP Paediatric Spirometry training centres are:

  • Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Glasgow.
  • Great Ormond Street, London.
  • Sheffield Childrens Hospital.
